2005 ASAE 1/4 Scale Tractor Competition

The eighth annual ASAE 1/4 Scale Tractor Student Design Competition was held at the Quad City Downs in East Moline, Illinois. This competition is designed as a fun way to provide hands-on engineering experience to students around the world. Teams traveled from across the United States and Canada for the 2005 competition. A special welcome was extended to first-time teams from Modesto Junior College, Nicholls State University, and the University of Wyoming.

Participating teams take on the challenge of designing and building a complete machine from the frame to drivetrain and other vehicle parts. All teams receive the same specified stock engine that cannot not be modified in any way. At the competition, teams are evaluated through a written design report, a team presentation, design judging, and a performance competition.
