Leonard Daman: Senior Designer |

Background Daman grew up on a farm and served in the US Marines for three years, where he worked as a Classification Specialist and Instructor. After his return, he managed a refrigeration and air conditioning business with his brother. Leonard joined John Deere PEC as a Student B Draftsman, and worked his way up to senior designer. After retiring in 1982, Mr. Daman earned an Aviation Mechanics Certificate and operated flight service operations at Decorah Airport, where he did aircraft repair and custom interiors. In 1990, Leonard and his wife started their own upholstery and antiques business. Daman joined us in 1995 and has worked on the Wide Area Mower, a pepper picker machine and a special condenser tube inserter machine for a manufacturer of industrial heat exchangers. Currently, he is on assignment at Terex Cranes in Waverly doing computer drafting and designing. Additional Information Mr. Daman was nominated as one of Iowa’s Outstanding Older Workers (click here to read more). He loves aviation and is currently working on his own plane. |
