Background

Jim Garrett is a Waterloo, IA native and is a graduate of Waterloo East High School. Jim was employed with John Deere for 45 years before coming to work with us.

• Diedrichs & Associates, Inc. -2008-Present
   -After a 7-year retirement returned to the JD Engine Works for 3 years as a tour guide before coming to work for us.
- Purchasing and parts inventory

• Contractor for John Deere- 1986-2008
   - Returned to PEC as a contractor after retirement for 12 more years working with the JD rotary engine and later as application engineer.


• PEC & Manufacturing Design - 1963-1986
   - Started as a toolmaker apprentice with John Deere in February 1953      
   - Worked as a supervisor in the shop area at PEC for 13 years
   - One of the original 12 to start the Engine Works facility
  

Additional Information

Jim is an active volunteer in the Cedar Valley. He has driven a "Car-a-van" for Covenant Medical and has volunteered for the Iowa Blood Center for the past 10 years. He is a 30 year member of the St. Vincent de Paul society and works with "Habitat for Humanity." In his free time Jim enjoys tennis and a little golf.
